I know more now about pod-casting than I knew before I even started this class. I like this new technology because it allows me to do more things and it doesn’t limit me. I think that this is something that can make everything easier. We can take technology to the next level. They are now making newer technology that allows you to make your own videos.
I listened to the Tony Hawk “this I believe” essay. It was amazing the way he could express himself in a pod-cast. I think that pod-casting is much more effective than just reading an essay about someone. It brings it to life. It allows them to express themselves in a different way. It’s like you’re actually there listening to him/her. I noticed that in the introduction he was talking about himself. It talks about how he was a professional skate boarder. It introduces what he is going to talk about in his essay. I really liked this experience.

Hi Lindsi,
This is Mr. Hicks — I am the person from MSU working with Mrs. Reed on this podcasting project.
I think you make an important point here and I would like to hear more about it:
“I think that pod-casting is much more effective than just reading an essay about someone. It brings it to life. It allows them to express themselves in a different way. It’s like you’re actually there listening to him/her.”
I agree with you and would like to know what, in particular, do you think makes a podcast more effective than just an essay? What do you have to know as a writer of an essay in order to make a good podcast? How does it change the writing process?
I am looking forward to hearing your podcasts soon. Good luck working with Audacity.
Mr. Hicks
